Sportsbook: What is Acca Edge?

What is Acca Edge?

'Acca Edge' is replacing the 'Acca Insurance' and with that we are now offering the most competitive form of insurance in the industry:

  • Refunding as cash when the competitors refund as free bets
  • Receive your refund straight away when the last leg is settled, not having to wait around to the next day to receive your payment
  • Acca Edge applies to trebles and above, not five folds and above that other competitors offer - cannot get this anywhere else
  • We offer this across all sports, we can mix any selections that you want - cannot get this anywhere else
  • We don't have any max refunds (general max refund in the industry is £25)
  • There is no minimum odds you have to sign up to, once you have three selections or above, Acca Edge kicks in.

How is the reduction in odds calculated?

The reduction in odds is calculated by us to offer the true price the bet would be, if one of the selections failed to win. So in a nutshell, the probability of one of the selection not winning.

What happens when...

A leg is voided:

Acca Edge gets voided. Bet reverts to the price before Acca Edge was applied.

There is a dead heat:

Acca Edge gets voided. Bet reverts to the price before Acca Edge was applied.

You use Cash Out:

Bet gets settled for the Cash Out amount and any further Acca Edge payment is void. Chance of Acca Edge applying is factored into Cash Out offer.

BOG Edge (Best Odds Guaranteed):

Acca Edge and BOG work in tandem. If the bet wins the return is based off the new BOG prices, and the Acca Edge reduction % still applies (which is the same as it was at bet placement).

Example:

  • 4-fold with all 4 legs at 2/1
  • Acca Edge used, which reduces the multiple price from 80/1 to 72/1 (9.9% reduction)
  • Bet wins and BOG applies for 1 horse, taking it to 3/1
  • Bet pays out at 96/1 (9.9% reduction to the BOG multiple odds of 107/1)
Horseracing rule 4 deduction Edge:

Acca Edge and Rule 4 work in tandem. If the bet wins the return is subject to the rule 4 and also the Acca Edge % (which is the same as it was at bet placement)

Key Terms & Conditions

Acca Edge

  • Applies to Sportsbook (fixed odds) accumulator bets only.
  • Not available for each-way accumulators, SP accumulators, bets placed with free bet tokens or permutation multiples (Yankee, Lucky 15 etc.).
  • Acca Edge only applies if one leg lets you down.
  • Stakes are returned as cash.
  • Acca Edge must be ticked at the time of bet placement and you must receive confirmation from Betfair that it has been "applied".
  • You acknowledge that the odds with Acca Edge may be different from the odds of the bet without Acca Edge.
  • Acca Edge will become void if any leg is settled void or any leg is subject to a Dead Heat Reduction. In such circumstances the bet will revert to a normal accumulator bet without the Acca Edge and be priced based on the original leg prices taken at bet placement.
  • Bets placed with Acca Edge are available for Cash Out, however any Cash Out (partial or full) will render Acca Edge void.
  • Betfair reserves the right to suspend or disable the Acca Edge feature at any time.

Each Way Edge

  • Applies to Sportsbook (fixed odds) Each Way singles only on selected (determined by Betfair trading team) Horse Races.
  • Not available for multiples or SP singles.
  • At the time of placement the odds and place terms must be updated in the betslip, highlighted in yellow, and the Each Way Edge applied message in view. Successful placement of the bet with Each Way Edge applied will be included in the bet receipt.
  • You acknowledge that the odds and place terms with Each Way Edge applied vary from the odds of the bet without Each Way Edge.
  • Bets placed with Each Way Edge are eligible for Cash Out if the Cash Out icon is shown, subject to the standard Cash Out terms.
  • If the number of non-runners results in a change in the standard each way terms, then the terms of the Each Way Edge bet will also be altered to reflect this.
In summary:
  • An EW Edge bet is an offset to normal EW terms, so if the EW terms on the market change after a withdrawal, the EW Edge terms can change too.
  • - E.g. if there is a market with 3 places @ 1/5 and EW Edge is used to take 4 places. If the market changes to 2 places @ 1/4 after a withdrawal, the EW Edge bet has terms of 3 places @ 1/4
  • If the market place fraction changes (e.g. market changes from 3 @ 1/4 to 3 @ 1/5) then the fraction changes for EW Edge bets too.
  • If an EW Edge bet reverts to Win only (e.g. -1 offset on a 3 place market when the market changes to 2 places), the price after EW Edge will still be honoured (but with rule4s applied if relevant).
  • If the market drops to Win only, positive EW Edges are still EW bets.
  • Bets placed with Each Way Edge applied are not eligible for Best Odds Guaranteed.
  • Betfair reserves the right to suspend or disable the Each Way Edge feature at any time.
