What is a Deposit Control?
Betfair allows you to set a personal deposit Control which helps you control how much you can deposit in for a set period. This can be daily, weekly, or monthly.
Deposit Limit
Deposit Limits only consider their deposits made into the account. Withdrawals are not taken into account. Deposit limits work on a rolling period based strictly on your deposits
Net Deposit Limit
This Limit Considers both deposits into the customer account and withdrawals; this means they are a 'net' amount (deposits - withdrawals). This limit works on a rolling period based strictly on the customers deposits
For customers based in Ireland and Rest of World, If you wish to decrease your limit you can do this at any time, and it will be effective immediately. If you want to increase or remove your limit it'll come into effect after a cooling off period. You will be notified of the cooling off period when making the increase or removal request.
After this cooling off period, you will need to re-confirm your Deposit Limit by visiting 'My Account' or the 'Safer Gambling Tools' page.
How to set a Deposit Limit
Step 1. From the top right of the page select 'My Account' and then 'Safer Gambling Tools' from the drop down.
Step 2. Select Set your Deposit Limit underneath Available tools
Step 3. Select your frequency ''Daily, Weekly or Monthly'' and enter your Deposit Limit & 'Set Deposit Limit' and ''Confirm'' to apply your changes.
How do Deposit Limits work?
Deposit limits work on a rolling period - see example's below to understand how this works.
Scenario 1:
- You set a £25 daily limit
- You deposit £25 at 13:01
In this case you are unable to next deposit until 13:02 the following day.
Scenario 2:
- You set a deposit limit on your account for the first time of £50 a week on 14/11
- You deposit £10 on 15/11 at 14:15
- You deposit £5 on 16/11 at 19:00
On 22/11 you will only have £35 available to deposit until 14:16 due to depositing £15 in the previous 7 days.
To clarify, a weekly limit doesn't run Monday to Monday. Its constantly rolling to stop you depositing more than your set limit. It will look at all your deposits from the previous 'limit period' - in this case a week.
Does my deposit limit carry across to Paddy Power/Sky Bet?
