Our Third Party Payment Method Policy

Unfortunately, customers are not permitted to use someone else's payment method on their account. To ensure the highest level of security for our customers, it is our policy that all payment methods used on the site must belong to the Betfair account holder.

Betfair reserves the right to void any bets placed with a payment method not in your own name and suspend your accounts. Please ensure all personal details registered on your account are accurate and up to date.

What are Third Party Payment Methods?

These are payment methods that have been added to an account where the account holders name and the payment methods holders name do not match - see the below example of a third party card.

You should not use any kind of third party payment method on an account (these include friends or partners cards) the only payment methods that should be added to your account are ones that are in your name.

How does this work for Instant Bank Transfers?

For Instant Bank Transfers (IBT) - a 3rd party payment is making a payment from a bank account that does not belong to the named account holder.

What will happen if I add a Third Party Payment Method to the account?

If a Third Party Payment Method is discovered on the account, this will result in the payment method being removed from the account.

Furthermore, this could also result in the account being suspended and documents requested.

Why do we request documents?

In the case of a Third Party Payment Method being discovered on an account, we may ask for documents to determine if the payment method has been added onto the account with the payment method holders consent.

Once the documents have been provided, we can then review the account and determine the course of action.
