What is the Extra Places Promotion?
Extra Places is a promotion we offer on selected races, on our Sportsbook.
Extra places means that we will pay out an extra place above our standard terms on Each Way bets.
So if your horse finishes 4th on an extra places race and we usually pay out for 3 places, the place part of any Each Way bet will still be paid out.

How do I find the Extra Place Race?
Navigate to the Horse Racing tab on your account, within the 'Popular' tab you will be able to view available Extra Place Promotions. Your Horse Racing tab can be found here.
How will I know if the race I am viewing is an Extra Place Race?
- You will see the 'Extra Places' wording next to a '+' sign
- This can be viewed in the banner at the top of the selections if the race is eligible for Extra Places, as seen below
How will I know how many places you are paying out on?
- Pick the race you want to stake on
- On extra place races we have a banner explaining the places in offer, if you press the '+' it will show you how many places are being offered
- For full terms and details click the T&Cs make sure your pop ups are enabled.
- We also detail the number of places on every race card and extra place races are updated
Who can take part in this promotion?
- This promotion is available to new and existing customers with registered Betfair accounts
- You must be 18 + and reside in the UK or ROI
Key Terms and Conditions
- No opt-in required
- Applies to singles and multiple bets
- If there are less than 16 starters, we will pay 4 places
- If there are less than 8 starters, we will pay 4 places
- If there are less than 4 starters, we will pay 3 places
