How to Play

Make your predictions. Win a share of the jackpot.

Put your football knowledge to the test. Submit your predictions and if you get them all correct, you will win a share of the jackpot. Every correct prediction counts towards the leaderboard. Finish in the top 3 and win a cash prize.

Prizes

What prize can I win?

There will be a round jackpot associated with each round. If you predict the outcome of all questions correctly, you will win a share of the round jackpot. You will win a Free Bet if you only predict 1 question wrong, and you will win a Boost Token if you only predict 2 questions wrong. There will also be a season-long leaderboard where all correct predictions earn you points on the leaderboard. Finish in the top 3 of the leaderboard to win a prize!

How do I win?

Winning is simple. If you correctly predict the outcome of all questions, you will win a share of the jackpot for the round. If you predict all but one question correct, you will win a Free Bet. If you predict all but two questions correct, you will win a Boost Token.

How much will I win?

That depends on how large the round jackpot is, and how many people win.

Example 1: Jackpot is £1,000. 10 winners. Everyone will win £100.
Example 2: Jackpot is £10,000. 2 winners. Everyone will win £5,000.

The Free Bet value will be £5. The Boost Token value will be 10%. Free Bet and Boost Token values are subject to change.

The season-long leaderboard prizes will be £10,000 for 1st place, £1,000 for 2nd place and £100 for 3rd place.

I won, when will I receive my prize?

Congratulations! Winners will receive their prizes into their Betfair account within 24 hours. Leaderboard payouts will take up to 28 days after settlement, via bank transfer into your bank account.

Can I win a prize more than once?

Yes. You will be able to enter every new round, with a new opportunity to win. A prize from a previous round has no impact on future rounds.

Are there any partial prizes?

Yes, if you predict all but 1 question correct then you will win a Free Bet. If you predict all but 2 questions correct then you will win a Boost Token.

Can I withdraw the cash prize I win?

Cash prizes are credited directly to your Betfair account and can be withdrawn, subject to standard account verification requirements. In exceptional circumstances, we may need to contact you to process your prize directly into your bank account rather than into your Betfair account. If this happens, it may take a little longer to process than 24 hours. Free Bets and Boost Tokens are non-withdrawable.

Will my prizes have expiry dates?

Yes. Free Bets and Bet Boost Tokens will have a 7 day expiry from being paid into your Betfair account.

Can I convert a Free Bet or Bet Boost Token into Cash?

No. Free Bets or Bet Boost Tokens cannot be converted to cash. Any cash winnings generated from a Free Bet or Bet Boost Token may be withdrawable. Free Bet stakes are not returned as cash.

Leaderboard

How does the leaderboard work?

You gain leaderboard points every time that you make a correct prediction. If you finish in the top 3 on our leaderboard, you'll win a prize of up to £10,000!

Do all games count toward my leaderboard score?

Yes. Every round that you enter counts towards your total score on the leaderboard.

Do I get leaderboard points even if I don't get all my predictions correct?

Yes. Every correct prediction that you make counts towards your total leaderboard score.

How long does the Leaderboard run for?

The Leaderboard runs for the entirety of the 2026-2027 season, from 28 August 2026 to 05 June 2027.

What prizes are available on the leaderboard?

Cash prizes are available for those who finish within the top three positions on the leaderboard.

1st Prize: £10,000
2nd Prize: £1,000
3rd Prize: £100

What happens if two or more players finish on the leaderboard with the same points total?

If two or more players finish on the tournament leaderboard with the same number of points, the prize money associated with the positions they occupy is combined and split equally.

Example 1: Two players finish joint 2nd. The cash prize for 2nd and 3rd position is added together and split equally between the two players.
Example 2: Three players finish joint 3rd. The cash prize for 3rd place is split equally between the three players.

When will the leaderboard prizes be paid?

Leaderboard prizes will be paid within 28 days after the final of the 2026-27 Champions League final concludes.

Private Leagues

What are Private Leagues?

Private Leagues are a chance to play against your friends and family to see who really knows their football.

How do I create a Private League?

You can create a Private League by clicking the Private League tab on the homepage and following the Create League prompts.

How do I add my friends and family to the Private League?

Once you've created your league, you'll get a unique code to share with whoever you want to invite.

How do I join a Private League?

You can join a Private League by clicking the Private League tab on the homepage and following the Join League prompts. You will need the private league code to be able to join a Private League which can be provided by the league owner.

Can I leave a Private League?

Yes, although if you do, any points you've accrued will be lost and cannot be retrieved. To leave, open the Private League and select the Leave button in the top right. You can only rejoin using the league code.

What if I leave a league I created?

If you leave a league you have created, It will get auto-assigned to another league member as the admin in their order of joining before doing so, and the league will continue as normal.

Can I delete a Private League I created?

Yes. Enter the Private League you wish to delete and select the Edit icon in the top right. You can then edit details about your Private League or delete the league. If you delete the Private League, this action cannot be reversed.

Is Back it or Bin it free to play?
Yes! Back it or Bin it is completely free to play.

Do I need to be signed in to play Back it or Bin it?
Yes. You need to be signed in to your Betfair account to play.

How many times can I play?
You can play Back it or Bin it once per round.

How many questions are there per game?

Each game can vary depending on how many games are available each day and the jackpot available. However, the criteria to win will stay the same - you must correctly predict the outcome to all questions to win a share of the jackpot.

Do I need to answer all questions to enter?

Yes. You must predict the outcome to all questions to be able to submit your entry.

How many predictions do I need to get correct to win a share of the jackpot?
You must get every prediction correct to win a share of the jackpot.

Can I edit my answers?
Yes, you can edit your predictions any time before the entry time closes. Once the round closes, your answers are locked in for that game.

Can I submit my predictions once the matches start?
No. Entries for each round will close when the first match begins. But you can still come back and play the next round.

Where can I find my results and past predictions?

All your game results and previous entries are stored in the My Games section. You can review any game at any time.

What about extra time and penalties?

All predictions are settled based on the outcome at the full time result after 90 minutes of play unless stated otherwise. Extra time and penalties do not count unless stated otherwise.

Why am I unable to play Back it or Bin it?

If you're having trouble accessing the game, it's most likely due to your Betfair account status. Common reasons include:

Your account has been blocked or suspended.
You have self-excluded from Betfair or set a cooling-off period.
Your account has not been fully verified.

Surprise Prizes

How do I win a Surprise Prize?

Surprise Prizes can be awarded to players once they submit an entry into the round. Surprise Prizes can be won each new round. Surprise Prizes are not guaranteed and will be randomly awarded to customers.

What can I win through Surprise Prizes?

You can win Free Bets or Bet Boost Tokens to use on the Sportsbook.

Can I win more than one Surprise Prize?

Yes. You will be able to enter each round with a new opportunity to win a Surprise Prize. A Surprise Prize from a previous round has no impact on future rounds.

Voids and Player Adjustments

What happens if a player doesn't start the match?

We do not void a prediction immediately just because a player is named as a substitute. The prediction remains active until it is known whether the player appeared in the match. The outcome depends on whether the player comes on:

Player comes off the bench and your prediction wins: WIN
Player comes off the bench, but your prediction does not win: LOSS
Player does not come off the bench: VOID

If a player is not in the matchday squad, then this will act just as if the player did not come off the bench, and we will void the prediction

What happens if my player is carded whilst on the bench?

Cards shown to players on the bench do not count towards your prediction. If your player comes off the bench, they will need to receive another card for your prediction to win. If your player does not receive another card, the prediction will be settled as a loss. If your player does not come off the bench, the prediction will be voided.

How does a voided prediction affect the prizes?

You must answer all predictions correctly to win a share of the jackpot. In the rare scenario that your prediction is voided, but the whole question is not voided, you will not be able to win a share of the jackpot. If a question must be voided for all entrants, the jackpot will be split between all players who predict all non-voided questions correctly.

Void Scenario 1: 1 question voided. Jackpot split between all players who correctly predicted 6/6. Free Bet to be won by all players who correctly predicted 5/6 and Boost Token to be won by all players who correctly predicted 4/6.
Void Scenario 2: 2 questions voided. Jackpot split between all players who correctly predicted 5/5. Free Bet to be won by all players who correctly predicted 4/5 and Boost Token to be won by all players who correctly predicted 3/5.

If 3 or more questions need to be voided in the same game, the whole game will be void and there will be no winners for that particular game.

Can more than one prediction in a game be voided?

Yes. Multiple predictions in the same game can be voided if more than one player meets the void criteria.

If 3 or more questions need to be voided in the same game, the whole game will be void and there will be no winners for that particular game.

What happens if a game is postponed?

If a relevant match is postponed or rescheduled to take place within the current or following 3 days of the original local event kick-off date, all Back it or Bin it questions relating to that match will stand, unless confirmation of the rescheduled start time is not received within 3 hours of the original kick-off time.

If confirmation is not received within this 3-hour window:

Individual questions (single selections) relating to that match will be voided; and
For rounds containing multiple questions, the affected question(s) will be voided, and the round and its prizes will be adjusted based on the remaining valid questions only.

If a match is postponed beyond 3 days from the original kick-off date, Betfair reserves the right to void the affected question(s), amend the round scoring criteria and prize distribution, or cancel the relevant round entirely where reasonably necessary.
