Core Markets:
Round betting markets (e.g. 2 balls, 3 balls etc)
General Rules
- If a price for a tie is not available, and Draw-no-bet is not specified (DNB), dead heat rules will apply.
- Tournament bets will only be settled if the minimum number of holes to provide an official result are completed.
- Where there is a presentation ceremony, markets will be settled on the official result of the relevant governing body at the time of the ceremony, regardless of any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result.
- If there is no presentation ceremony, outcomes will be determined in accordance with the official result of the relevant governing body, regardless of any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result (except if an amendment is announced within 24 hours of the initial settlement of the relevant market in order to correct an error in reporting the result).
- If a player does not start a tournament then all bets on that player will be void.
- Any player starting a tournament but withdrawing or being disqualified before the end of the tournament will be settled as a loser.
- If a tournament is shortened and Betfair settles the tournament markets then all bets placed after the last completed round will be void.
- In any 'to qualify' market for any tournament the winners are the number of golfers that qualify for the tournament, whether they compete in the tournament or not. Markets will be settled after the qualifying stage and any subsequent disqualification or amendment to results will not count.
- If a Tournament/Round is restarted from the beginning, all bets placed after the official off time will be void, except on markets which have been unconditionally determined, which will stand. Bets on 2 or 3 balls will only be void if placed after the tee time of the relevant 2 or 3 ball.
- "Victory Margin" markets will be settled on the official tournament result NOT including any playoff.
- For "3 Balls" or "2 Balls" markets, all bets on these markets will stand irrespective of whether the players play in the same group or pairing as each other.
- Should a tournament be shortened, or otherwise affected due to weather conditions the trophy presentation will govern settlement, including tournament groups, matches, place only, top 10 and all other 72-hole markets provided at least 36 holes of the event have been completed.
- Should 36 holes not be completed then all bets on that event will be void except markets that have already been decided i.e. 'first round 3-balls'.
- Should there be no further play after a bet is struck that bet will be void.
- In the event of a postponed event all bets stand except if tournament is not played within 7 days then bets will be void.
- In the event of a playoff, outright markets will be settled including the playoff results, but all other markets will not.
Tournament match betting (i.e. 72 hole match bets)
- If a player withdraws without playing a stroke all bets on the relevant market will be void.
- If all players fail to complete a particular round for any reason the winner is the player with the lowest total score after the previous round.
- If a player is disqualified or withdraws during any round they will be settled as a loser providing at least one other player completes that round.
- Should all players fail to complete the first round then all bets will be void.
- This market will not include any playoff shots.
Round betting markets (e.g. 2 balls, 3 balls etc)
- Players must complete 3 holes or more for bets to stand.
- In 2/3 ball betting the winner will be the player in the pairing or group with the lowest score over 18 holes.
- Should a player in the 2/3 ball not tee-off all bets in that 2/3 ball are void. However should a player retire during the round, he will be deemed to have played.
- In the event of a 2/3 ball being rearranged all bets in that 2/3 ball will stand as per original pairings/groups.
- If a player fails to complete the round for any reason the player is settled at the score of his last completed round. Any bets during an uncompleted round which are not unconditionally determined will be void.
- If a player posts a score but is later disqualified, all bets will be settled on the score that the player initially signs for that round. Signing of the card is deemed as the weigh-in and subsequent disqualification or amendment of result will be ignored for settlement purposes.
- Where odds for a tie are offered in 2 ball betting, in the event of a tie bets on both players are losers and bets on the tie are winners. Where no tie selection is offered in 2 ball betting, in the event of a tie bets on both players will be void.
- Where odds for a tie are offered in mythical 2 ball betting and in the event of a subsequent tie, then bets on both players/groups are losers and bets on the tie are winners. Where no tie selection is offered, in the event of a tie bets on both players will be void.
- At least one player in a 2/3 ball must complete 18 holes for bets to stand.
Strokeplay hole-by-hole markets (i.e. performance of a named player on a given hole)
- Should a hole not be completed for any reason all bets on that hole will be void unless the market has been unconditionally determined.
- Markets are settled on completion of the hole and any subsequent penalties or disqualification will not be taken into account.
Matchplay hole-by-hole markets (i.e. performance of players against each other on a given hole)
- With the exception of a player or team conceding a hole (where they are deemed a loser), if a hole is not completed by any player or team (other than for withdrawal or disqualification) all bets on that hole will be void unless the market has been unconditionally determined.
- Any player or team withdrawing or being disqualified having played a stroke on that hole will be settled as a loser providing at least one other player completes that hole.
- If any player or team does not play a stroke on a hole all bets will be void.
- Markets are settled on completion of the hole and any subsequent penalties or disqualification will not be taken into account.
Individual matchplay markets
- For all individual matchplay markets (eg. individual matches in the WGC Match Play or Ryder Cup) if, after 18 holes, the match is tied then:
- Any player or team withdrawing or being disqualified having played a stroke on that hole will be settled as a loser providing at least one other player completes that hole.
- If the tournament allows for sudden death or playoff hole(s), then the market will be settled on the result of the sudden death or playoff hole(s);
- If the tournament allows for halved matches, then the market will be settled as a "half".
- For team matchplay events, bets on the winner of any singles match will be void if that match does not reach its natural conclusion. A singles match will be deemed not to have reached its natural conclusion if, for example, the applicable players agree to a half because the overall team contest has already been determined.
Top Player betting (e.g. Top US Player, Top European Player)
- In Top Player betting, the winner will be the player with the highest placing at the end of the tournament.
- Each way bets will be settled in the same way as outright each way bets.
- Only the players quoted count for settlement purposes.
- In the event of a tie, dead heat rules apply.
Enhanced win only prices
- When more than one player shares the same lowest score in a tournament and there is no play off, win bets are settled by normal dead heat method outlined in the settlement of bets section.
- In the event of a play-off the result of the play-off will determine the winner of the tournament only. Even if three or more contestants take part such a play off has the sole purpose of deciding the winner of the tournament and the relative finishing positions of unsuccessful contestants is not affected.
To make/miss the cut
- Bets on players to make/miss the cut will be settled on the official result posted on the tour sites.
- Players who are disqualified or withdraw before they complete 36 holes (or 54 holes in the case of a 3 Round cut) are deemed to have missed the cut.
- PGA Tour: any player who makes the cut or the modified cut (MDF) will be settled as having made the cut (according to the pgatour.com leaderboard).
- Should 36 holes (or 54 holes in the case of a 3 Round cut) not be completed then all bets on this market will be void.
- Players who are disqualified or withdraw subsequent to posting a score equal to or better than the official cut mark (after they have completed 36 holes) will be deemed to have made the cut.

- Settlement is based on the official result posted by the governing body of that tournament.
- Dead-Heat Rules Apply unless otherwise stated.
Big "X" v The Field
- If any of the players quoted as part of the Big "X" are non runners, bets will be void on this market.
- We reserve the right to apply a Rule 4 to this market should the price of the field be sufficiently affected by withdrawals.
#Oddsonthat Golf Rules
- The rules in this sub-section apply specifically to the settlement of any golf bets which are placed via #oddsonthat ("OOT"). All other settlement rules which are included in this "Golf" section or elsewhere on this website will also apply to the settlement of OOT bets unless they contradict, or conflict with, those included in this sub-section (in which case, the rules in this sub-section shall take precedence).
- For any OOT bets which involve a player to win a tournament, if that player shares the same lowest score in the tournament as another player and there is no play-off, the relevant part of the OOT bet will be settled according to our normal dead heat rules.
- In the event of a play-off, the result of the play-off will determine the winner of the tournament. Even if three or more contestants take part in a play-off, such a play-off has, for the purposes of any OOT bets, the sole purpose of determining the winner of the tournament (meaning that the relative finishing positions, within the tournament, of unsuccessful play-off contestants is not affected by their placing in the play-off).
- Any players who withdraw from a tournament after they have completed 3 holes or more are considered as having played in the tournament and, therefore, any OOT bets placed on those players will be deemed to be losing bets.
- For any OOT bets which involve a player that has withdrawn before they have completed 3 holes, the bet in question will be voided in its entirety.
- Where an obvious pricing error has occurred, we reserve the right to cancel any OOT bets placed at the incorrect price (and, in such circumstances, we will offer the OOT bet to be re-placed at the correct price).
- Any OOT bets involving a player to finish in the top 5/10/15/20 (or similar) will (unless otherwise stated) be deemed successful if the player finishes in a tie for the last named place. For example, if an OOT bet is placed on player to finish in the top 10 and the player finishes in tied 10th position, the OOT bet will be settled as a winning bet.
- For any obvious wording errors, we reserve the right to cancel any OOT bets placed on that selection (and, in such circumstances, we will offer the OOT bet to be re-placed with the correct wording).
- The maximum payout on an OOT golf bet shall be £/Euro 50,000. For the avoidance of doubt, this maximum applies to all elements of your OOT bet when taken together (i.e. it does not apply separately to each element of your OOT bet).

Who will win a group of holes?
- Dead Heat Rules apply.
- All bets are void if any player in the specified group does not complete the holes.
Longest Drive Markets
- For group betting, if no ball finishes on the fairway or green, then the 'No Fairway' selection will be deemed the winner. If there is not a 'No Fairway' selection offered and no player's drive finishes in the fairway or on the green then all bets will be void.
- Dead Heat Rules apply.

- Bets are on the ball closest to the pin/hole in regulation shots for the hole being played (1 shot for a par 3, 2 shots for a par 4 etc.)
