Which documents do I need to provide for the Identity Verification Process (KYC)?

We're required to verify every account holder we have. One way of doing this is by providing documents so we can verify who you are. 

In order for us to comply with legal requirements it is necessary to verify personal details submitted to us upon registration of Betfair accounts.

We will attempt to electronically verify your account where possible. If we are unable to verify you we may ask you to send us a photocopy or scan of one document from each of the categories listed below:

One Photo ID from the following list:
• Passport
• Driving Licence
• National Identification Card (photographic)


One of the following:
• Utility Bill (less than 6 months old)
• Copy of Bank Statement - (less than 6 months old)


  • The documents must be clear and legible and have your username, e-mail address or telephone account ID on all documents. If this is not the case processing time may be longer and may result in temporary account suspension
  • Please send scans in JPG/JPEG, PNG or PDF file formats only with a maximum size of 5MB per email.
  • Please send documents that state your residential address. Regrettably, documents addressed to a PO Box number are unacceptable for validation.
  • Please DO NOT send in original documents

By secure uploader: Once logged into your Betfair account, select - 'MyAccount' > 'Account Details' > 'Document Uploader' and upload a scan or high quality-digital photograph of your identity documents.
