Ante Post Betting

Ante Post betting is when a market exists in advance of an event. This way you can place your bet well in advance of the sports event.

Unless otherwise specified all selections that are Non-Runners are counted as losers.

Rule 4 is not applied.

Cheltenham 2020 Ante Post Betting Dates

Cheltenham 2020  -> Ante Post Betting ended on Tuesday 25th February at 10am.

Examples

This is what happens if your horse is a non runner:

  • If you placed your bet on a horse for Cheltenham 2020, you placed your bet before Tuesday 25th February and your horse is a non runner, your bet will be settled as a loser.
  • If you placed your bet on a horse for Cheltenham 2020, you placed your bet after Tuesday 25th February and your horse is a non runner, your bet will be voided.

 

This is what happens if you placed a bet on a horse and there was a non runner in the same race:

  • If you placed your bet on a horse for Cheltenham 2020, you placed your bet before 25th February and there was a non runner in the race (not your horse), nothing changes to your bet.
  • If you placed your bet on a horse for Cheltenham 2020, you placed your bet after 25th February and there was a non runner in the race (not your horse), Rule 4 applies and your winnings if any might be affected.

Generally, in horse racing or greyhound racing, ante post betting takes place before the final declarations of that race (usually 24-48 hours before the race).
