The Dead Heat Rule applies to bets on Exchange Omaha Hi when there is more than one winning selection in the Main market - i.e. the result is a draw or tie between 2 or more hands.
In these cases, the odds on the tied selections received by the backer are divided by the number of winners and the bet settled based upon the new odds. For example:
Client A backs Hand 1 for £100 at odds of 4.0. Both Hand 1 & 3 win, Client A bet is now calculated as £100 at 2.0 odds and they receive £100 in winnings.
Note; as a result of the dead heat rule it is possible to receive less that your original stake during settlement of a game in which a dead heat occurs. For example if Client A had backed Hand 1 for £100 at odds of 1.2 and then both Hands 1 & 3 won, the total payout for this bet would be £100 X (1.2/2) = £60. This would result in a net loss of £40 even though their chosen hand is a winner.
Alternatively, this can be viewed as the full amount paid to the digital odds divided by the number of dead-heaters. In the above example this would be 300 paid to 4.0/3 making 400 payout and 100 net winnings.
When the Dead Heat Rule is applied, determining whether a particular bet is a net winner or a net loser depends on the number of winners involved in the dead heat and the odds at which the bet was matched.
